THE RITUAL OF RELEASE
Purchase Options & Membership Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
The Realm honours every bond freely entered. It honours, too, the decision to release it.
The Refined Circle offers recurring paid memberships through The Refined Home Interiors Limited (“TRH”, “we”, “us”, “the Realm”).
This policy explains how a Summoner may cancel a recurring membership, how future billing is affected, and what happens to membership privileges and permanent standing.
It applies to eligible recurring purchase arrangements offered through The Refined Home and should be read alongside The Refined Circle — Membership Terms & Conditions, The Refined Terms of Service, and any specific subscription conditions accepted at checkout.
A Summoner may cancel their recurring membership without having to provide a reason.
I. THE BINDING — RECURRING MEMBERSHIPS
The Refined Circle offers the following paid membership Paths:
The Initiated — Monthly subscription
The Chosen — Monthly subscription
The Consecrated — Monthly or annual subscription, depending on the selected offering
The Ascended — Quarterly subscription, available through individual invitation or approval
The applicable subscription price, billing frequency and any introductory or Founding rate conditions are disclosed before purchase.
By subscribing, a customer authorises the recurring payments described in their accepted subscription arrangement until the subscription ends or is cancelled.
The Marked is a free membership and carries no recurring subscription fee.
A Summoner who attains permanent standing through the Path of Resonance is not required to purchase a recurring subscription merely to retain that legitimately earned standing.
II. THE RITUAL OF RELEASE — HOW TO CANCEL
A Summoner may request cancellation of an active paid membership at any time.
Cancellation may be completed through the available subscription management facilities within the customer's account, where supported.
Alternatively, the Summoner may contact:
Please include the email address associated with the membership and, where available, the relevant subscription or order reference.
We will not require a customer to explain their reasons for cancelling.
Where account verification is reasonably necessary, we may request sufficient information to confirm that the request is authorised.
Cancellation does not require the purchase of another membership, payment of a discretionary release fee or approval by the Council.
A cancellation request sent to our support address is a valid method of requesting cancellation, even if the account's self-service facilities are unavailable.
We will process valid requests without unreasonable delay and confirm the outcome.
III. THE FINAL RENEWAL — BILLING & EFFECTIVE CANCELLATION
Cancelling a recurring membership prevents further scheduled subscription renewals once cancellation has taken effect.
Where cancellation is completed before the next renewal is processed, no further renewal charge should be taken under that cancelled arrangement.
A payment already authorised or processed before cancellation may require separate review under the applicable subscription and refund conditions.
There is no mandatory minimum membership term beyond any commitment expressly disclosed and agreed before purchase.
Cancellation may take effect immediately or at the end of the current paid period, depending on the applicable subscription arrangement and the method of cancellation.
The effective date and any remaining paid access will be communicated to the member.
A customer will not be required to pay a new renewal merely because they did not provide a reason for leaving.
Any payment taken incorrectly after a valid cancellation will be investigated and refunded where appropriate.
IV. THE RIGHTS OF RELEASE — CANCELLATION & REFUNDS
Cancelling future subscription renewals is separate from exercising a statutory cancellation right or requesting a refund.
Where a qualifying online service agreement is subject to a statutory cancellation period, the customer may have the right to cancel within 14 calendar days after entering into the contract, without giving a reason.
Where a customer expressly requests that eligible services begin during that period, the applicable legal rules concerning cancellation and any proportionate charge for services already supplied may apply.
TRH will obtain any legally required consent or acknowledgement through the appropriate subscription process.
Outside any applicable statutory cancellation period, cancelling a subscription does not automatically entitle the member to a refund for an earlier billing period merely because they did not use all available benefits.
However, nothing in this policy removes rights to a refund or other remedy where:
-
A charge was taken incorrectly
-
A cancellation was not properly processed
-
A paid service was not supplied as agreed
-
A statutory cancellation right applies
-
Another refund or remedy is required by law
Any refund due will be processed in accordance with the applicable legal requirements.
The Realm does not use the language of ritual to diminish a customer's legal rights.
V. WHAT REMAINS — STANDING & MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS
The Refined Circle distinguishes between permanent recognised standing and benefits requiring an active paid subscription.
When a paid membership ends, benefits dependent upon that active paid arrangement may cease.
These may include:
-
The applicable paid Member Blessing
-
Eligibility for commercial Recognition Gifting
-
Selected private or personalised services
-
Other privileges expressly conditional upon an active paid subscription
The precise treatment of benefits during any remaining paid period follows the applicable membership arrangement.
Legitimately earned permanent Path standing is not automatically removed because a paid subscription is cancelled.
A Summoner's recognised standing, accumulated Path of Resonance progress and eligible account records remain subject to The Refined Circle Terms.
Likewise, cancellation does not automatically erase legitimately earned MOE or MOR balances.
An earned Ascended Summoner is not required to maintain a quarterly paid arrangement merely to retain permanent Ascended standing.
The Chamber of Ether maintains its own independent progression and reward rules.
A subscription may end. Recognition already earned does not simply disappear.
VI. FOUNDING OFFERINGS & REJOINING THE CIRCLE
Certain members may hold an Early Access or Founding subscription rate.
Where a Founding rate is contractually protected, TRH will honour that protection for as long as the member remains eligible under the conditions of the accepted offering.
Cancelling a protected Founding subscription does not automatically guarantee that the same introductory price will be available if the customer later rejoins.
Any rejoining price will be the applicable offering available at that time, unless a specific contractual or promotional entitlement provides otherwise.
A former paid member may apply for or purchase an eligible membership again, subject to the applicable conditions.
Paid Ascended arrangements remain subject to invitation or approval.
Rejoining does not automatically restore expired promotional benefits or previously cancelled commercial arrangements.
